Biography: Wayne McGinnis went home to be with his Savior on February 12, 2014 after a short illness. Wayne was born March 5, 1927 in Carter, Kentucky. He was the last child of thirteen children born to George Ellis McGinnis and Etta Elizabeth (Jordon) McGinnis, both deceased. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers, three sisters, and his son in law Randy Lauthers.
Wayne married Betty McGlone on April 9, 1948 in Greenup, Kentucky and they spent over sixty five wonderful years together.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Betty McGinnis, three daughters; Anna McGinnis, Connie Driver, and Ruth Lauthers, and one son; Randy (Beverly) McGinnis, all of Bucyrus, OH. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews and his cat, Kitty Cat.
He was employed for thirty years at The Bucyrus Casting Company and co-owned Bucyrus Aquarium Supply. He was also part owner of Aquaramics which manufactured aquarium ceramics that were sold in over twenty five states.
Over the years Wayne enjoyed fishing, working in his flowers, metal detecting, and most of all, reading his Bible. He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Galion, OH.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Timothy Brant, family friend, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
