Walter J. Ruth

Biography: Walter J. Ruth, 92 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Walter was born Sept. 20, 1925 in Crawford County to the late Oscar and Marguerite (Kelley) Ruth.  He was married March 22, 1952 to Ruth (Pratt) Ruth who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Keith, grandson Dave, and great grandchildren Spencer, Arianna, Aryan, and Joey; brother Earl and sisters Arlene Lohr and Mary McHenry.


Walter is survived by children Dave (Nora) Ruth of Galion; Paula Ruth; Sharon Ruth; John Ruth, all of Bucyrus; Steve (Sharon) Ruth of NY; and Mark Ruth of Bucyrus; grandchildren Dorinda, Melissa Dehart, Nicole Gearhart, Jason Olmstead, and Jason Cress; 10 great grandchildren; brother Gale (Mary Ann) Ruth and sister Mable Detterman both of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


Walter farmed and lived in Bucyrus his entire life.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, and watching football and soap operas.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev.
