Virgil "Tackett" Evans

December 31, 1969 — December 2, 2013

Biography:  Virgil “Tackett” Evans passed away November 30, 2013 after a short illness.  He was born Oct. 25, 1936 in Puritan, WV to the late John B. and Aretta (Davis) Evans.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and son Michael Evans.
 
Virgil is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Rittenberry) Evans as well as son and daughter in law David and Jackie Evans; daughter Rebecca Evans; son Virgil Eugene Evans; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
 
Virgil was known as a humble man who quietly lived out his Christian faith by example.  He came to Bucyrus in 1957 where he married and raised a family.  He worked at Swan Rubber until his retirement in 2001.  Virgil attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
 
Virgil enjoyed tinkering with small motors and electronics in his spare time.  He loved bluegrass music, reading his bible, and his family.  He will be greatly missed by his family, but the Kingdom of Heaven rejoices in his presence.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be given to Gideon’s in Virgil’s memory and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
