Verna D. Hurrell

Biography: Verna D. Hurrell, 78 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Verna was born March 8, 1943 in Camp Dix, KY to the late Vernon and Oma (Bloomfield) Lewis.  She was married February 9, 1962 to Eugene Hurrell who survives.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Melissa Inman and brothers John, Roger, Gordon, and Jimmy Lewis. 

Verna is also survived by daughter Karen (Jon) Wurm of Bucyrus; grandchildren Patrick (Brittany) Wurm, Chris (Katie) Wurm, and Zach (Tessa) Wurm, Andrew and Jessica Inman; great grandchildren Jett, Elsie, Eli, Lola, and Myles; brother Randy (Llynette) Lewis; sister Shirley Alban; and half sister Mary (Jack) Elswick. 

Verna graduated from High School and attended Tri Rivers and graduated from Ohio State Nursing School.  She worked as an LPN for 30 years at several nursing homes and retired from Fairview Manor in Bucyrus.  Verna and Eugene enjoyed camping in the summers. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the Crawford Co.
