Biography: Verl William Dye Sr., 76, of Bucyrus passed away peacefully in his home, his death was unexpected. He was born May 3, 1941 in Lynn Springs, Virginia to the late Bill Lee Dye and Lona V. (Hess) Dye. He is also preceded in death by his step father, Dewey Dye.
On Dec. 12, 1964, he married Lois Gay (Bostic) who survives. He is also survived by his children, Verl “Billy” William (Lori) Dye Jr. of Oregon, Ohio and Timothy Eugene (Bonnie) Dye of Bucyrus; his grandchildren, Lucas (Kayla) Dye, Casey (Vosh) Dye and Aubrey Dye; his great grandchildren, Hayden and Carmen; his brothers, Roger (Judy) Dye of Virginia and Doug “Joe” (Judy) dye of Virginia; and his sister, Helen Keene of Virginia. He is preceded in death by his brother Sherman.
William worked in the coal mines in Virginia as a young man. After moving to Ohio, he worked for Crawford Steel in Bucyrus, American Malleable in Marion, and Pacal Blades in Bucyrus where he retired. He truly enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work, gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral services for William will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1 pm with Pastor Barry Taylor officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made through the funeral home.
