Uliss G. Hess

Biography:  Ulis G. Hess, 78, of Bucyrus passed Thursday morning in his home with his loving family.  He had been seriously ill for the past 6 months.  He was born April 18, 1936 in Drill Virginia to the late Artemus C. and Gertie (Perkins) Hess.  On April 9, 1990 he married Wanda Beatty who survives. 
Also surviving are his children, Brenda Frost of Crestline, Glen Hess and special friend, Cheryl of Crestline, Ruth (Jack) Chapman of Bucyrus, Tami (Dell) Jones of Morgantown West Virginia, Roger (Lori) Watkins of Baltimore Maryland, and Vonda Watson of Bucyrus; his 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; Brother, Sherman Hess; and sister-in-law, Peggy Hess.  He is preceded in death by his brother’s CA and Emett Hess, and one daughter, Sandy Snyder.
After graduating from Honaker High School in Honaker Virginia, Ulis moved to Bucyrus where he began work at the Swan Rubber Company.  He retired in 1998 after 43 years of service to the company. 
Funeral Services for Ulis will be held on Saturday at noon in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Monty Trammel Officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.   The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. 
The family has requested memorial contributions to be given in his memory to the Gospel Baptist Church Flood Fund.
