Thomas J. Lane

Thomas J. Lane, 65, of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2022 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.  Tom was born April 25, 1957 in Bucyrus to the late Samuel G. Lane and Sylvia (Miller) Lane who survives in Bucyrus.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandson Austin Lane and sister Bonnie Betz.

Tom is also survived by his children Brandon (Brooke) Lane of Bucyrus and Amber (Adam) Kirchner of Sunbury, OH; grandchildren Kenzie, Blake, and Colton;  sister Diane Lane of Bucyrus; and his former wife Chris A. Collier of Bucyrus.

Tom graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1975 and was owner and operator of Northland Motors for several years. He used his knowledge acquired from his time at Northland Motors to help his son establish his car business (Fastlane Auto) years ago.  He enjoyed spending time at Fastlane on a regular basis.

Tom was a very honest and hard-working man. He would have given a stranger the shirt off of his back, while expecting nothing in return. His greatest hobby was anything having to do with cars. Most of all, Tom’s pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He loved his grandkids dearly, and they always brought a smile to his face.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday from Noon until 2:00 pm in the Bucyrus Nazarene Church fellowship room.
