Biography: Thomas T. Louis, 80, of Galion passed away on Sunday May 11, 2014 in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, his death was unexpected. Tom was born April 14, 1934 in Monnett to the late Thomas Louis Sr. and Eva (Clark) Louis Wise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Richard Wise.
Tom is survived by children; Steve (Mary) Louis of Mt. Gilead; Glenda Leuthold of Bucyrus; Brenda (Richard) Myers, Bucyrus; and Rhonda (Jamie) Fox of Milford, OH; grandchildren, Alison (Andy) Oswald, Medina; Kasey (Ben) Ziska, Medina; Shelby (Nic) Hunter, Delaware; and Ansley Myers of Bucyrus; great grandchildren Griffin, Adele, Lukas, and Quinn; sisters Mary Kay Frost of Nevada; Stoyna Louis, Minnesota, and Rachel Meade of Bucyrus; brothers Jim Wise of Galion and John Wise of Bucyrus.
Tom was retired in 1985 from Timken. He lived in Bucyrus most of his life and graduated from Mt. Zion H.S. in 1952, he most recently lived in Galion. He was a member of Scioto United Methodist Church. Tom loved coaching sports and for many years coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball in Bucyrus. He helped coach the Legion Team in the early 1950’s with Red Widman and was very active in the early stages of the Wynford Booster Club. Tom never met a stranger and especially liked to socialize.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Glory Geib officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Memorials may be given to Scioto U.M. Church or the Council on Aging to help benefit Meals on Wheels.
