Biography: Thomas L. Leonhardt, 63, of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday June 18, 2015 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, his death was unexpected. Tom was born June 2, 1952 in Bucyrus to the late Virgil and Lura (Ziegler) Leonhardt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Donald and sister Carolyn McClenathan.
Tom is survived by children Kristy (Tom) Widman, Bucyrus; John (Sarah) Leonhardt, New Washington; Kenneth Leonhardt, Bucyrus; grandchildren Adam, Kendal, and Alan; brother Dorsey (Shirley) Leonhardt, Crestline; sister in law Florice Leonhardt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom farmed his entire life and graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1970. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. and for many years was active in 4-H and FFA activities. Tom enjoyed raising livestock, farming and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Hans Scherner and Rev. Jack Koscis officiating, burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The family suggests memorials be made to the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, or the Donor’s choice.
