Biography: Thomas L. Gantzler, 63, of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness. Tom was born July 19, 1949 in Bucyrus to the late Harry W. and Mary Elva (Pritchard) Gantzler.
Tom is survived by daughters Ashley Butler of Bucyrus and Candice Gantzler of Gold Hill, N.C.; 3 grandchildren, Ivan Wayne Thomas Butler, Joshua Thrift, and Noah Owens; brother Francis R. Gantzler of Bucyrus; sister Carol (Ronald) Stoneman of Grove City, OH; as well as special friends Trenton and Oriana Cornell of Bucyrus.
Tom retired from the Bucyrus Police Dept. as a Dispatcher in 2001 after 12 years. He was an Aux. Policeman for 15 years and had worked for the Ohio Highway Patrol as a License Examiner. He lived his entire life in Bucyrus and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1967. He was a member of the F.O.P., enjoyed fishing, wildlife, going to the zoo, and OSU and the Cleveland Browns. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with grandson Ivan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Am.
