Biography: Thomas Hildenbrand, 64, of rural Bucyrus passed away on Sunday April 19, 2015 at Heartland of Bucyrus, he had been battling cancer for the past year. Tom was born January 7, 1951 in Bucyrus to the late Albert and Margaret (Lyons) Hildenbrand. He is survived by his longtime companion Jane Wells, her children, Jeremy Wells of Columbus and Chad (Russann) Wells of Galion; Jane’s grandchildren Harley and Kyle Jenks; sisters Barbara (Ron) Higbie and Beverly “Brandy”(David) Robertson both of Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one brother Kenneth.
A lifelong area resident, Tom graduated from Wynford High School in 1969. He worked at various local companies, restaurants, and for many local farmers. Tom particularly enjoyed cooking and for several years was a camp cook traveling to many places out West. He was an outdoors person who liked to hunt, fish, and was an avid reader. Tom was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. and the American Legion Post 181.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm in St. Paul Lutheran Church on Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Hans Scherner officiating, burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service.
