Biography: Thomas Edward Armbruster, 62 of Bucyrus went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 29, 2018 following a brief illness. Tom was born December 1, 1955 in Zanesville, OH to the late Clarence and Norma (McElroy) Armbruster. He was married March 29, 1980 to Midge (Lambert) Armbruster who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson Gage Armbruster.
Tom is also survived by children Michael D. (Pamela Jean) Armbruster of TN; Joel C. (Molly) Armbruster of Columbus; and Meghan (John) Kizer of Columbus; grandchildren Cody, Tymothy, Jack, Gabby, Joshua, Erika, and Nicholas; brother Jim (Becky) Armbruster of Sulphur Springs, OH sisters Jane (Bill) Blum, Bucyrus; Teresa (Denny) Mosley, Galion, Barb (Jerry) Martin, Bucyrus, and Julie (Gary Bucher) Armbruster of Bucyrus.
Tom graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1974 and retired from G.E. two years ago after 40 years. He was very active in the Gospel Baptist Church where he was the Praise Team leader, deacon and small group facilitator. He was also part of SoundWord Ministries, a prison ministry team, for 20 years and regularly played guitar for the residents at Heartland of Bucyrus. Tom was passionate about music and played guitar for more than 50 years. He instilled a love of music in his children and grandchildren, and his music was a means for ministry and spreading the word of God.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday August 4, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
