Thaddeus "Shorty" Martin

Thaddeus A. "Shorty" Martin Sr., 78 of Crestline and most recently of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday December 13, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus following a long illness.  Shorty was born February 12, 1944 in Dry Branch, W. Virginia to the late Arthur Rene Martin and Maude (Holstein) Edelman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step father George Edelman and brothers Charles and Ray.

Shorty is survived by children Teddy (Roberta) Martin of Shelby, Sophia Toney of Cleveland, and Tommy Martin of Mansfield; 4 grandchildren; brother Richard "Mike" Edelman of McLean, Virginia; sister Audra (Susie) Pauley of Elkview, West Virginia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Shorty was a Christian, formerly attending church in Crestline.  He retired from General Motors as a machine repairman after 40 years.  Shorty served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate on the U.S.S. Intrepid.  He always had an outstretched hand to help anyone in need and was a friend to everyone.
