Sylvia Ovella Lane

March 7, 1924 — January 2, 2023

Bucyrus

Sylvia Ovella Lane went to be with the Lord on Monday January 2, 2023 at 98 years young.  She was born March 7, 1924 to her parents Floyd and Daisy Miller who precede her in death.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Lane, daughter Bonnie Betz, son-in-law Bruce Betz, son Thomas Lane, brother Roland Miller, sister JoAnn Wingo, 3 infant siblings Roberta, David Allen, and Floyd J. Miller, great-grandson Austin Lane, and great-grandson-in-law Adam Burcher.

Sylvia lives on through her daughter Diana Lane, 4 grandchildren Kim (Quinten) Boyd, Kelli Patterson (James Tussey), Brandon (Brooke) Lane, and Amber (Adam) Kirchner; great grandchildren Alyssa, Stefan (Ashton), Aubrey (Tyler), Karys, Shelbee, Christian, Kenzie, Blake, and Colton; 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as her special nephews Doug (Lisa) Miller and Steve (Rhonda) Miller.

Sylvia was owner and operator of the Treasure Chest in Bucyrus for several years.  She moved to Bucyrus in 1953, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Sylvia enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She loved hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family, and she always made sure her guests had plenty to eat.  Though she was bed ridden the last few years of her life, she kept her quick wit, and always cared that she looked presentable – even at 98 years old.  Her eyes would light up any time she saw her grandkids or great-grandkids.  Sylvia lived a very long and full life rooted by her deep belief in our Lord.  She will be missed deeply.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  Memorials may be made to the Gifts for Yanks through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
