Biography: Steve G. Kalb, 57, of Bucyrus passed away on Monday July 21, 2014 at home. His death was unexpected. Steve was born Jan. 30, 1957 in Bucyrus to the late Alvin and Twyla (Shafer) Kalb. He was married August 5, 1988 to Diana (Conti-Lowe) Kalb who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother in law Anthony and Carole Conti as well as great nephew Caden McCleese and nephew Tyler Stuckman.
Along with wife Diana, Steve is survived by son Brian Lowe of Washington D.C.; sisters Sharon (Thomas) Babcock of Fort Pierce, FL and Linda Freeman of Bucyrus; nieces and nephews Jenny (Nicholas) Carey of Port Lucie, FL and their children Finnegan and Harper; Bryce (Anna) Babcock of Fort Pierce, FL., Christy (Chuck) Scott of Bucyrus; Janine (Tom) McCleese of Bucyrus and children Caleb, Christian, and Madyson; April (Brian) Engler of Crestline and children Marissa and Seth; sister and brother in laws, Carole (David) Wenner, Madisonville, TN; Linda Conti, Bucyrus; Anthony (Ronda) Conti Jr., Galion; Michael (Rachel) Conti of Madisonville, TN; David Conti, Galion; Lisa (Tim) Stuckman, Bucyrus and nieces and nephews, Michelle (Chad) Zeigler and Missy Auck (Kip Combs) both of Bucyrus; Christine (Brandon) Bradshaw, Indianapolis, IN; Taran Stuckman of Bucyrus, Taylor and Matthew Conti both of Madisonville, TN, and great niece and nephews Toni Lee Zeigler, Reece Zeigler, Kavan Combs, as well as a host of cousins.
Steve has worked at General Electric for the last 39 years. He graduated from Wynford H.S. in 1975 and was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church. Steve joined the Holmes Twp. Fire Dept in 1992 and was the Fire Chief from 2002-2013. He currently was a Township Trustee in Holmes Twp, was a Certified E.M.T. and was a member of Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. John Cory officiating, burial will follow in Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chatfield. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3 pm and 5-7pm at the Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Holmes Twp.
