Biography: Sissy Marie Mullins, age 61, went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 3, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sissy was born to the late Leo Gallant and Linda (Butler) Gallant on June 29, 1959 in Bucyrus, Ohio. Sissy is preceded in death by parents, her husband David Mullins, and daughter Violet “Lil Sis” Burkett.
Sissy is survived by children, Michael (Amanda) Burkett, Jessica (Dirk) Palenshus, and Catrina (Jim) Parker; brothers, George Gallant, Phillip Gallant, and Wayne (Sandi) Gallant; sisters, Ollie Hall and Rose Kiess; grandchildren, Alexis, Katlyn, Brandon, Blake, Shaylee, Camron, Eli, Jacob, Gracelynn, and Javan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sissy was a friend to all who knew her and a grandma to many others.
Sissy attended The Freewill Baptist Church of Bucyrus. She had worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. Sissy enjoyed life to the fullest by fishing, quilting, putting together puzzles, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, but her greatest joy was always her family and her grandchildren.
It would be wrong to say that Sissy lost her battle with cancer as she never stopped fighting and always had a smile on her face. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to continue the fight. Sissy stayed strong until the very end as she rejoined her Heavenly family and received her angel wings.
