Shirley (Grove) Spaid Smernoff Auld

Biography:  Shirley (Grove) Spaid Smernoff Auld, 86 of Mansfield and formerly of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday March 12, 2017 at The Waterford in Mansfield.  Shirley was born June 16, 1930 in Bucyrus to the late Vernon and Bertha Grove.  She married Gene Spaid in 1949 and her preceded her in death in 1997.  Her second marriage was to Mark Smernoff in 1999, he passed away in 2005 and she was married in 2006 to Arthur Auld who preceded her in death in 2015.  Shirley was also preceded in death by daughter Debi Ervin, granddaughter Angela Tackett, son in law Ollie Trout, and her siblings Gordon (Bud) Grove, Joyce Stewart, and Carol Truka.
 

Shirley is survived by children Michael (Chris) Spaid and Tamra Spaid Trout both of Bucyrus; step children Cheryl Smernoff; Lee Cutler; Robyn Kominski; Lois (Michael) Ottman; Arch Auld; Jane (Rob) Main; Judy (Jerry) Smith; grandchildren Alisha (Jason) Miller; Annie (Chris) Clark; Adrienne (Matt) Ruhe; Kristina (Mike Smith) McInally; Carl Briggs; and Elise Tackett; great grandchildren Lydia, Luke, Cooper, Graham, Miles, Max, Coby, Jacob, and Alannah; 26 step grandchildren, and 20 step great grandchildren.

 

Shirley graduated from Holmes Liberty High School in 1948.  She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and attended Hope Lutheran Church at The Villages in Florida.  Shirley enjoyed camping, golfing, the cabin in Michigan, card club, fishing, and singing in both church choirs where she attended and sang in a choir Lamplighters to the Lord.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 16, at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rob Main officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church Steeple Fund or Organ Repair Fund.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
