Shirley A. (Mackling) Alt

Biography:  Shirley A. (Mackling) Alt, 75 passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening Sept. 18, 2013 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.  Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Born August 17, 1938 in Toledo to the late Ephraim and Eleanor (Shiffer) Mackling, Shirley was married Dec. 15, 1956 to John Alt who survives. 
 
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by son Gary (Tonya) Alt of Galion; daughter Kathy Alt Fuller of Bucyrus; grandchildren Ryan Alt and Kelley Fuller; sister Mary Lou Dewiel, Bucyrus; and brother Donald (June) Mackling of Bucyrus.
 
Shirley was an exceptional homemaker and caregiver to her family.  She made all holidays special, was an avid reader, and always good for a political debate.  Shirley’s sister Mary Lou was her best buddy and they got together weekly for a “meeting of the minds”. Shirley loved her granddaughter immensely whom she took such good care of and are best friends forever.  She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Hurles officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
