Sara Geewax, 63, passed away peacefully, following a series of medical challenges.
Her loving husband, Ronald Geewax of Twinsburg, was holding her hand as she took her last breath on Dec. 29 at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood. They were married for 35 years, and enjoyed a life filled with family, friends and her beloved cats.
The daughter of Kenneth and Rosalie Kalb, of Chatfield, Sara grew up with a love of sports. When she went to high school in New Washington, she played basketball and volleyball and participated in track. As an adult, she continued to enjoy sports as a fan of Cleveland baseball and Ohio State football.
Sara graduated with an associate degree from the University of Toledo. Her career was focused on health care, working in doctors’ offices and later, with an ambulance service.
At home, Sara enjoyed getting together with loved ones for cookouts, especially when she and Ron had a home in Reminderville. Their backyard featured a fire pit and picnic tables to help entertain friends and family in the summer. But her favorite time of year was Christmas. She and Ron put together a beautiful collection of ornaments and she enjoyed decorating their tree.
“Sara loved being with her family,” her father Ken said. “She will be really missed.”
Besides her husband and parents, Sara leaves behind her brother Gary and his wife Lori, and their two children Jeremy (Lindsey) Kalb and Megan (Eric) King. She also is survived by four grand nieces and nephews, many cousins and aunts and uncles, as well as sister-in-law Marilyn Geewax and brother-in-law Darryl Geewax.
Friends and family may call from 10 am to noon on Saturday, Jan. 7 at Evangelical Pietist Church's, 3535 Chatfield Center Rd, Chatfield. The funeral service will begin at noon at the church
