Biography: Sallie Lou (Rowland) Parker, 80, a lifelong Bucyrus resident passed away on Monday March 30, 2015 at Heartland of Bucyrus following an extended illness. Her smile and warm heart will be truly missed. Sallie was born August 19, 1934 in Bucyrus to the late Marion and Adeline (Holland) Rowland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex husband Gordon Parker and siblings Elsworth “Hap” Rowland, Florence Christman, Robert and Gene Rowland, Marion Eileen Rowland, and Marilyn Lohr.
Sallie is survived by children Thomas Parker, Linda Cox, and Brenda (Robert) Arrowood all of Bucyrus; siblings Bonnie Grau, Columbus; Herbert Rowland, Bucyrus; and Carol (Pete) Hart of Rosenberg, TX; grandchildren Ryan Cox, Stephanie Parker, Tom Parker, and Jason Cox; great grandchildren Brittney, Briona, Jake, Trevor, Ethan, Owen, and Rylee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sallie was a Bookkeeper and retired in 1995 from Zeigler Mill after 30 years. Following retirement Sallie worked at the Dodge Garage and did volunteer work at the Court House and at the desk at the Y.M.C.A. She was a lifelong member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and was a member of the ladies of the Moose.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. David Bliss officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11;00 am until the time of service.
