Biography: Ruth A. Mason, 74, passed away after an extended illness at home surrounded by family April 6, 2016. Ruth was born September 12, 1941 to the late Clarence and Helen (Congrove) Sisson in Delaware County. Ruth is preceded in death by parents and brothers, Raymond “Gene” Sisson, Robert “Curly” Sisson, Thomas “Bubby” Sisson, and James “Jimmy” Sisson.
Ruth is survived by loving husband of 56 years, Charles Mason; children, Rose (William) Dartt, Charles “Beaver” Mason, and Pauline “Sue” (Mark) Dennison; brother, Donald “Bevo” Sisson; grandchildren, Chris Bloomfield, Amber (Jermie) Bloomfield-Adkins, Zach (Brittany) Beach, Nick Mason, Dustin Mason, Mallory Beach, Chelsee Mason, Mark Dennison Jr., Shawn Dennison, Adam Dennison; 10 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a member of the cafeteria staff at River Valley Schools and spent a few years at G&R Tavern. Ruth was a member of the Womens Auxillary Legion Post 605. She spent much of her time around family, everyone was very special to her. In her free time she enjoyed reading almost as much as she loved cooking. She also attended the Waldo United Methodist Church.
Family will be receiving friends Sunday April 10th for a celebration of life gathering 2-5 PM at the Legion post 605 in Waldo, 367 West Main St. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marion General Foundation Hospice or to the Womens Legion Auxillary Group.
