Ronnie J. Sweeney

Ronnie J. Sweeney Sr., 75 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday January 8, 2024 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, his death was unexpected.  Ronnie was born March 14, 1948 in Pike County, KY to the late Sam and Blanche (Moore) Sweeney.  He was married in 1967 to Phyllis Jean (Blankenship) Sweeney who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Gary, daughter in law Ronna (Titus) Sweeney, and brother in law Curtis Mutter.

Ronnie is also survived by son Ronnie Joe Sweeney Jr. of Bucyrus; grandchildren Dalton (Mahalia) Sweeney of Troy, OH, and Garrett and Savannah of Bucyrus; brother Sam (Anne) Sweeney of Bucyrus; sisters Barbara Mutter and Debra Flores of McCarr, KY; and sister in law Ruth Sweeney.

Ronnie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired in 2008 from Swan Rubber.  What Ronnie enjoyed most in life was taking care of and spending time with his family.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Mike Darling officiating and burial to follow in Brokensword Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am Friday until the time of the service.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
