Biography: Ronald W. Foght, 64 of rural Bucyrus passed away at 7:05 pm Friday April 12, 2013 at his home following a 7 year battle with cancer. Ron was born Sept. 4, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Fred Foght and Clara (Troutman) Foght who survived in Florida. He was married June 6, 1970 to Carol (Kissling) Foght. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by son Randy (Jeri) Foght of Galion; daughter Tami (Ed) Sulser of Bucyrus; grandchildren Michael and Isaak; brother David Foght, Bucyrus; sisters Alice Rowland, Upper Sandusky; Mable Hargis of Winterhaven, FL; Gloria Lust of Crestline; and Elizabeth Ulrich of Marion; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers Frederick and Richard.
Ron retired after 36 years from Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Crestline. He was a U.S. Army Veteran from 1968-1970 and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and working in his yard. Most of all Ron liked spending time in his garage,” the Dog House”, with his friends who referred to him as “Uncle Ron”.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Skelton officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
