Ronald I. Reid

Biography: Ronald I. Reid, 82 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus.  Ronald was born October 7, 1939 in Galion to the late Ivan and Mildred (Smith) Reid.  He was married September 11, 1965 to Joanne (Schell) Reid and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2014.  He was also preceded in death by great great grandchild Lincoln. 

Ron is survived by daughters Linda (John) Kissling of Bucyrus and Billie Jo Carr (Sheri Furry) of Bucyrus; grandchildren Stacy (Kip) Barth, Lesa Pollock, Casey (Dawn) Pollock, Kristin Grant, Tyler (Jessica) Flurry, and Hannah (Brandon) Wise; great grandchildren Reid, Kaila, Samantha, Hannah, Selena, Jaret, Olivia, Summer, Joey, Sarah, Domonic, Brooklyn, Adelynn, Collin, and Brock; great great grandchildren Jordyn, Maximus, Amelia, Atticus, Amaya, John, and Remy; brothers Darrell (Pat) Reid of Fremont and David Reid of Galion; sister Marsha (Dan) Kieselhorst of Galion; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Ron graduated from Galion High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran for 6 years.  He retired from the Timken Company after working over 35 years.  Ron was a Life Member of the AMVETS Post #27 and was a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669.  He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoyed collecting hats. 
A graveside service will be held on Saturday February 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Oakwood Cemetery with Jill Waite officiating.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Avita Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
