Robert M. Virtue

Biography: Robert M. Virtue, 92 formerly of 920 Melody Lane Bucyrus, passed away on Saturday evening in the Fairhaven Community Nursing home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on Oct. 20, 1920 in Bucyrus to the late Vance and Henrietta (Keller) Virtue. He was married to Edith Winklefoos in 1948 who preceded him in death in 1988. In 1990 he married Irene Tallman who preceded him in death in 2004.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie, Dorothy, and Lois Ellen.
He lived most of his life in Bucyrus and graduated the class of 1940 from Bucyrus High School. He served his country from 1942 – 1946 in the Army Air Forces office being stationed in Italy during WWII. He worked in the office for National Machinery in Tiffin, Ohio for 15 years retiring in 1980. He was a former member of the American Legion, Moose, and the VFW Post 8999, and attended the Bucyrus Nazarene Church.
At Bob’s request, no formal services will be held; his body will be donated to the University of Toledo for medical research. His ashes will be buried at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery.
