Robert "Bob" Wallace Lamb II

October 3, 1931 — March 30, 2024

Robert Wallace Lamb II; otherwise known as Bob, grew up during the Depression; the only son of Russell Slyvester Lamb and Helen Marie Poggemeyer.   He spent most of his youth in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.    During Grade and Middle School, he was a good student; a Boy Scout; and helper in the Lamb’s family business (Interior Design and Renovation) on S. Sandusky Ave in Bucyrus.   He went to High School at Howe Military Academy in Howe, IN; graduating in 1949.   He then started at University of Cincinnati to study Electrical Engineering; but life interrupted with the death of his father in July of 1950.   After taking several months off to help his mother and Uncle with the Lamb’s family business, he returned to college and obtained his degree in Business in 1954.   He married his first wife, Joan Hauck and had two boys and one daughter during their 10-year marriage.

He then joined the US Air Force to learn to fly.  He spent 26 years in the Air Force, flying over 7000 hours in the B-52 as well as training others to do the same.     He retired from the Air Force in 1980, but had already purchased an architectural designed house by the Galion Country Club, which he lived at until 2009.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1980, he worked with a local Airline company until it closed down, but was recruited by ATV, the aircraft company that supplied the planes to the local airline, to work in Virginia for several years.  After his second retirement he spent most of his time supporting the Galion Country Club in some way or the other.

He married Gabrielle in 1971, who had two daughters and enjoyed a full and exciting marriage until her death in 2009.

In 2010, Bob moved down to Air Force Village I (in San Antonio, TX) and enjoyed doing lots of little things to help fellow and new residents.

His remains will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery on June 14th  at the 1:00 pm, with a short graveside service for family and friends.   He will be buried next to his wife Gabrielle.  He leaves 4 kids and 11 grandkids and several more great-grandkids.
