Richard Metcalf

Biography:  Richard Metcalf, 87 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday July 16, 2013 in the Carlisle House, Bucyrus.  Richard was born March 27, 1926 in Bucyrus to the late Leslie A. and Lena (Krumbach) Metcalf.  He was married July 16, 1949 to Martha (Court) Metcalf who preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 1987.  Richard is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; close friend Helen Ricker of Bucyrus and many friends that he was involved with in his bowling and golfing over the years.
 
Richard was retired from Timken where he worked as an electrician after 38 years.  He graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1944 and lived his entire life in Bucyrus.  He was a veteran of WWII Navy serving in the Philippines.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 181, the Bucyrus Moose and Masons.
 
Graveside Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in Oakwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
