Biography: Richard M. Hord, 85 of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in his home. He was born June 10, 1928 in Crawford County Ohio to the late Milton and Edna (Lehner) Hord. On July 27, 1949 he married Rosemary (Kline) who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Jeffery Hord of Bucyrus, Jerry (Katy) Hord of Cumming, Georgia, and Joe (Cindy) Hord of Los Osos, California; his grandchildren, Hamilton Hord of Cumming, Georgia and Lucas Hord of Los Osos, California; his sister, Barbara Cassan of Worthington, Ohio; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Marion Roser; his brother in law, Jim Roser; and his nephew, Chuck Roser.
Mr. Hord grew up in Marion and Crawford Counties area graduating from Kirkpatrick High School and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He farmed most of his life and was a plumbing contractor and owned his own business for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, Taking his sons and friends fishing, water skiing, and boating in Florida. He loved spending time and playing with his grandsons, Hamilton and Lucas and just being at home with his family.
Mr. Hord’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will have a Memorial Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and an inurnment of ashes in the Holy Trinity Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Marion General Hospice through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
