Biography: Rev. Gilbert C. Perdue, Pastor of God’s Lighthouse, Tiffin, OH went home to be with the Lord on Sunday Sept. 28th at 8:45am in Mansfield Med Central Hospital following complications after a series of strokes, he was 73. Gilbert was born Jan. 21st, 1941 in Portland, TN to the late Grady C. and Dorothy (Freeman) Perdue. He was married Oct. 3, 1959 and would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this year with Sharon L. (Hill) Perdue who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Carolyn F. Crum.
Gilbert is also survived by children Angela G. (Rodney L.) Reynolds of Sidney, OH; Duane C. (Paula S. Hunker) Perdue; Diana L. (Steve A.) Sherman; and Chad A. Perdue all of Bucyrus; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Harold Wayne(Sue Ann) Perdue of Bucyrus; and brother in law Michael Crum of Sandusky.
Pastor Gilbert Perdue served as minister in the Pentecostal Church of God of Dallas Texas for 34 years of which the past 25 years being in Tiffin. While living in Bucyrus he was business owner of Perdue’s Roofing and Spouting which served the tri-county area.
Gilbert was an avid outdoorsman and was well known as a competition coon-hunter. He loved fishing, playing Rook (cards), and spending time with his family. Pastor will be lovingly missed by his family, friends, and church community.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in God’s Lighthouse, PCG, 634 Miami St., Tiffin with Rev. Isaac Shelton officiating, burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 5-8 pm. The family suggests memorials be made to God’s Lighthouse and expressions of sympathy may be left at munzpirnstill.com
