Randall “Randy” Paul Ervin, age 67, suffered a stroke and passed away while surrounded by family on July 17, 2023. Randy was born in Portsmouth, Ohio January 6, 1956 to William Paul Ervin and Joan (Liles) Ervin. He married the love of his life Felecia (Dunker) Ervin October 27, 1984.
Randy is survived by wife of 38 years Felecia Ervin; mother Joan Ervin; children Taylor (Stephanie Kim) Ervin and Haley (Dimitrios Spantithos) Ervin; brother Russel Anthony “Tony” Ervin; sisters Rita (Angelo) Morocco and Pam (Troy) Richey.
Randy was a 1974 graduate of Wynford High School where he played baseball and basketball for The Royals. He was a long-standing member of the YMCA and he spent his working years at Ohio Crane and Bucyrus Blades where many knew him as Big E.
He was an avid cyclist, a lover of books, a history buff, a trivia wiz, a parrot-head, a jokester, a friend, a mentor, a father, and a devoted husband.
The family will receive friends at the T&OC Railroad Station in Bucyrus from 3PM-5PM Saturday July 22. A simple celebration of life service with time for sharing will begin at 5pm. Randy suffered from Parkinson’s Disease in his later years, so the family asks in lieu of flowers, keepsake chimes, blankets, etc. that mourners please donate to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
