Paul Franklin “Frank” Barth

Biography:  Paul Franklin “Frank” Barth, 81 of Bucyrus passed away on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at Mill Creek in Galion, OH.  Frank was born July 24, 1937 in Bucyrus to the late Mahlon and Dorothy (McClain) Barth Orr. He was married August 10, 1983 to Margareta “Maggie” (Beal) Barth who survives.  He was also preceded in death by brother Rev. Bob Barth and an infant sister.
 


Frank is also survived by children Torri Barth Warner (Al) of Hilliard, OH; Adam (Danielle) Barth of Bucyrus; and Larenda Hammett-Gore (Brannon) of Holland, OH; grandchildren Cortney (Chris) Peters and her children Caleb and Maddie of Calgary, Canada; Kevin and Michael Warner; Josiah, Isaiah, and Elijah Barth; Abigail Gore, one sister Diane Pensinger of California; sister in law Ruth Barth of Waverly, OH.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kim and Julia Kiess and Wes and Tammy Beal all of Bucyrus.


Frank was a member of the Bucyrus High School class of 1955.  He served on the Bucyrus Police Department as a Patrolman and later as a Captain on the Bucyrus Fire Dept.  Frank was a registered Animal Technician and did work for Dr. Neikirk. He retired as the Crawford County Dog Warden.  


Frank was an M-P in the U.S. Army and served in Germany.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 181, a life member of both the VFW Post 1078 and the AMVETS Post 27 as well as being a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669.  Frank was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting in the Allegheny Mountains in PA at Hermit Springs. He was a dedicated sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also spent his spare time playing Nintendo games.


A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Frank's nephews Rev. Mark Barth and Rev. David Barth officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Gifts for Yanks Fund or the donor’s choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
