Patti A, (Knodell) Lutz

Biography:  Patti A. (Knodell) Lutz, 83 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday January 25, 2016 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.  Patti was born Feb. 11, 1932 in Bucyrus to the late George and Dorothy (Sparrow) Damschroder.  She was married Oct. 29, 1952 to Gaylord “Dick” Knodell who died Sept. 22, 1968.  On March 16, 1991 she married Arlo Lutz who survives.  Patti was also preceded in death by step son James Knodell; sister Cathy Cleland; and infant daughter Sue Ann.


In addition to her husband, Patti is survived by children Lois (James) Smith, Alabaster, AL; Richard Knodell, Columbus; Lori (Brad) Niedermier, Attica; step children Larry Knodell, Bucyrus; Sandra (Robert) Haas, Willard; Ronald (Connie) Lutz, Galion; Dana (David) Young, Bucyrus; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister Alberta (Charles) Fox, Salem, KY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Patti graduated from Holmes Liberty H.S. in 1950 and the Bustin Beauty School in Columbus.  She worked at Shafers Beauty Shop in Bucyrus and owned and operated Pats Beauty Barr.  She retired from Bucyrus Blades after 26 yrs.  Patti was a member of Bucyrus Methodist Church and formerly was a member of the Scioto United Methodist Church.  She sang in the choir both at Epworth U.M. Church and Scioto U.M. Church.  Several years ago she was active in 4H and was an assistant supervisor at Holmes Liberty.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service.  Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
