Biography: Naomi R. VanBuskirk, 86 of Upper Sandusky passed away on Sunday December 13, 2015 at Fairhaven Home. Naomi was born Feb. 5, 1929 in Bucyrus to the late Otto J. and Gladys (Hoker) Grasley. She was married March 20, 1993 to Norman D. VanBuskirk who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2013. She was also preceded in death by son John Cress, daughter Cheryl Hurst, grandson Randy Hurst, sisters Coral Campbell, Helen Lieby, Lucille Graham, Mary Stuckert, Esther Holtshouse, and brothers Russell, Harold, Dale, Kenneth, and John Grasley.
Naomi is survived by grandchildren Douglas Hurst, Roni Sue, Angela, and Jerry Cress; son in law Ronald Hurst; great grandchildren Jessica, Zach and Dana Hurst; step sons Pastor Kenneth VanBuskirk and Carl VanBuskirk; step grandchildren Ann, Casey, Morgan, Kelly, Carl, Michael, and Jenna VanBuskirk; sister Marjorie Kurtzman and brother Franklin Grasley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Naomi lived her entire life in this area and retired from Swan in 1971. From 1978 until 1991 she and her husband managed apartments in Florida and also the Indian Creek apartments. She attended the Bucyrus Bible Church for many years until March of 2013.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday Dec. 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Rogers officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
