Mike Schiefer

Biography: Mike Schiefer, 65 of rural Bucyrus passed away Tuesday December 8, 2020 at Ohio State University Hospital following a brief illness.  Mike was born May 31, 1955 in Bucyrus to the late Chester and LaVonne (Kiess) Schiefer. In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by first wife Sherrie. He was married July 2, 2015 to Kimberly (Hirtz) Schiefer who survives.  Mike is also survived by daughters Michelle Hooston of Arlington, TX, Sabrina Baldwin of Bucyrus, Samantha Dobyns of Bucyrus; 6 granddaughters; and two brothers Randy of New Albany and Gary of Tiffin. 

Mike lived his entire life in the Bucyrus area and had a strong love for Crawford County.  He retired from the Timken Co. after 30 years and served 28 years on the Bucyrus Police Dept. Auxiliary.  Mike graduated from Wynford School in 1973.  He liked the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.  He was a longtime member of the Crawford County Conservation League and taught hunting safety and CCW. An active Republican, Mike also enjoyed car shows, his "66" Chevelle, and old movies. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.  The Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.  The family suggests memorials be made to the NRA or the Cr. Co. Humane Society
