Biography: Michael H. LaFrance, 57 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday at The Ohio State University Hospital, his death was unexpected. Michael was born Aug. 18, 1957 in Dearborn, MI to the late Wilfred LaFrance and Elizabeth (White) Oren of Reno, NV. He was married July 18, 1998 to Jennifer (Powell) LaFrance who survives. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by father in law Michael Powell and brother in law Christopher Powell.
Mike is also survived by children Cynthia (Scott) Messmer, Nevada; Renee Powell; Jarret Allen; and Randall Allen; Zach Reedy, all of Bucyrus; Katie Brillhart (niece that he helped raise); grandchildren Hayden, Shi Shi, Eli, Bryson, Grayson, Rashaad, Aubrey, Payton, Brandon, and Addie; brother Dale (Debbie) LaFrance of Reno NV; sister Leeandrea (Lance) Campbell of Everett, WA; God Daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Tucker of Merritt Island, FL; mother in law Kathryn Powell, Bucyrus; bro. in laws Matt and Steve Powell, Bucyrus; sister in laws Theresa Powell, Willard; Denise (Keith) Turner, Bucyrus; and Valarie Eichhorn, Bucyrus; and 18 nieces and nephews.
Michael was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and uncle. He was raised in Michigan and resided in Bucyrus for the past 17 years. He was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Concord AFS-5, Norfolk, VA. Mike enjoyed fishing, spending time with grandchildren, collecting Coca Cola items, working in the garage, and being the Duct Tape King. Through Michael’s passing, three lives have been saved through his organ donation.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
