Biography:
Mervin Dible, age 92, passed away at home surrounded by family December 4, 2018. Mervin was the youngest and last surviving of his 7 siblings. He was born to the late Lawrence and Julia “Shober” Dible in Hancock County Ohio September 25, 1926. Mervin is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ethyl “Hagerman” Dible, his parents, all of his siblings, and son-in-law Larry Lester.
Mervin is survived by children, Sheila Lester, Duane (Barb) Dible, and Susan Eaton, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his furry companion Pepper, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mervin served during WWII in the Army. He went on to work at Swan Rubber in Bucyrus and retired from there in 1989. He was a member of AMVETS Post #27, American Legion Post #181, and VFW Post #1078. In his younger years Mervin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening in his spare time.
Per Mervin’s request, there will be a private burial at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, American Cancer, or the Crawford County Humane Society.
