Melvin Starr

Melvin Thomas Starr, 89 of rural Crestline passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at Galion Community Hospital.  Melvin was born June 20, 1933 in Tiro to the late William Sylvester and Emma (Cline) Starr.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Ronald Starr and infant grandson Austin Starr.

Melvin is survived by sons Randy and Keith; grandchildren Matthew (Danielle) Starr and Aaron (Jena) Starr; great-grandchildren Kayden and Jace Carpenter, Hailey and Katherine Starr; one sister Ruth Perriman.

Melvin farmed and retired from Timken after 33 years.  He was a graduate of North Robinson High School and a very proud Veteran of the U.S. Army during Korea.  He was a member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge and enjoyed bluegrass music and festivals as well as traveling in his motor home with friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Sandusky Twp. Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
