Mary L Russell

Mary L. Russell, 96 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at Carlisle Place in Bucyrus.  Mary was born January 7, 1927 in Findlay to the late Alfred and Dora (Margraf) Blackburn.  She was married January 4, 1947 to Jack Russell who preceded her in death on October 5, 1999.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Dixie Russell and brothers Bill and Jerry Blackburn.

Mary is survived by children Tom (Bev) Russell of Worthington, Toby (Vickie) Russell of Bucyrus, Bonnie (Rich) Mahlerwein of Hamilton, OH, and Rebecca (Rick) Stineman of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sister-in laws Dorothy Blackburn and Vi Blackburn both of Upper Sandusky; brother-in-law and wife Jim and Ann Russell of Marion.

Mary was a graduate of Sycamore High School, a homemaker, and member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church since 1948.  She enjoyed gardening, her flower beds, sewing, and crocheting.  Mary was active in her church and spent time with her grandchildren as well as playing the piano and organ.

Private Graveside Services will be held on Friday in the Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Tom Gruver officiating. A public memorial service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
