Biography: Mary J. (Foley Alberty) Chatman, 93, passed away at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky on January 15, 2017. Mary was born July 22, 1923 in Coalwood, W. Virginia to the late John L. and Nara (Wyatt) Foley. She was married Nov. 23, 1962 to Pastor Billy Chatman who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2012. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons Marlin L. Alberty and Billy Jack Chatman; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Mary is survived by three sons, William (Connie) Alberty, Port Clinton, OH; Lewis (Amy) Alberty, North Robinson; and Thomas (Dianne) Alberty, New Winchester; 2 sisters Vivian Belton Rockingham, N.C. and Dorothy Hess of Bucyrus; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary and her husband pastored the Pentecostal House of Faith in New Winchester for many years prior to the death of Pastor Billy Chatman. Mary and her husband were well known at many churches.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Rowe officiating, burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
