Biography:  Mary Emily Holmes, 77 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday Dec. 30, 2014 surrounded by her family following an extended illness.  Mary was born Sept. 22, 1937 in Bucyrus to the late Paul Joseph and Mary Margaret (Shaner) Beran.  She was married August 18, 1956 to Raymond Holmes who preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2000.
Mary Emily is survived by children Glenn E. Holmes of Bucyrus; Mary Margaret Snyder, Galion; Kathleen M. (Jim) Miller, Mt. Gilead; and Thomas R. Holmes of Bucyrus; 10 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and brothers John Beran of Bucyrus and Joe (Kate) Beran of Fredericktown. 
Mary was a homemaker and farm wife who lived her entire life in Bucyrus.  She graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1955 and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  She was also a life member of VFW Post #1078 Ladies Aux., member of Am. Legion Post 181 Ladies Aux. and enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, gardening and the outdoors.  Mary was also fond of animals and over the years has had several pets.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Miller officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
