Martin Edward Conkel, 48 of rural Bucyrus went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 25, 2022 at O.S.U. Hospital in Columbus following a very brief illness. Martin was born May 24, 1974 in Bucyrus to the late Ray Conkel and Mary (Clark) Conkel who survives. In addition to his mother, Martin is survived by brother Donald Ray (Sherry) Conkel of Galion and Dodie Elaine Conkel of Bucyrus; nieces and nephews Dustin Lee (Brylah) Conkel, Haley Nicole (Derek) Amert, Shelby Lynn Rigney, Natalie Lynn Conkel, and Kooper Jameson Hill, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Martin graduated from Colonel Crawford High School in 1993 and has worked at WalMart for the past 8 years. He was a longtime attendee of Freedom Fellowship Church in Caledonia and was the sound coordinator. Martin enjoyed attending church camp where he cooked in the kitchen and did security.
The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Saturday at the Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Stewart officiating and burial to follow in Harrison Furnace Cemetery.
