Martha Kostenbader

Biography:  Martha Kostenbader, 97 of Bucyrus passed away on Friday Jan. 30, 2015 at home.  Martha was born June 29, 1917 in Bucyrus to the late Emanuel and Emma (Munz) Kostenbader.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters.


Miss Kostenbader began teaching in Bucyrus in 1937, mostly at Kilbourne School, and retired in 1972.  She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1935 and from Capital University in 1944 with a degree in education.  She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, taught Bethel, and was a member of the Naomi Circle.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Good Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Lutz and Rev. David Bliss officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be given to the Good Hope Memorial Fund and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
