Biography: Mark Charles Tieben, age 69, passed away February 6, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Mark was born to the late Charles B and Norma (Nester) Tieben May 1st, 1948. He was married June 20, 1970 to Joan E Long who survives. In addition to his parents Mark is preceded in death by sister Elaine Tieben.
Mark is survived by wife of 47 years, Joan Tieben; children, Chad A. Tieben and Brett (Kimberly) R. Tieben; four grandchildren Madison, Bryce, Alexandrea, and Lilliana Tieben; sister, Diane (Bob) Traxler; brother, Bruce Tieben; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mark graduated from Bucyrus High School class of 1967, prior to getting married he served in the U.S. Army from March 19, 1968 through March 18, 1971. He worked at Shecks Grocery before entering the military. Mark then went on to work at Checkmate Boats for 11 years. Then retired from GE in 2008 after 25 years. Mark devoted his life to his family and loved the outdoors. He had a green thumb and loved spending time gardening with his wife. Mark was a member of the American Legion, lifetime member of VFW, Amvets, and the Moose. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Crawford County Veterans Hall of Fame. Per the families request there will be no services at this time.
