Biography: Mark Blunt, 39, and his loving daughter MacKenzie Marie Blunt, 2 years of age, passed away on Friday morning due to a house fire in Tiro.
Mark Blunt was born August 19, 1975 in Columbus and was the son of Dan and Sonja (Blunt) Carman who survive in Tiro. He was married to MacKenzie’s mother, Samantha Lee (Laferty) Blunt on December 29, 2005. In addition to Mark’s parents and wife he is survived by sons Luke Matthew and Gauge Robert, one daughter Bella Rose; sisters Jerusha Danielle Kanney of Willard, Leah Christine Carman, Sarai Lynn Carman, and Daniela Lee Carman all of Tiro; as well as grandfather Glenn Carman of Bucyrus.
Mark graduated from Xenia High in Dayton and moved to this area 9 years ago. He was a truck driver and served in the U.S. Army. Mark enjoyed fishing but most important was his family.
MacKenzie Marie Blunt, who loved “Minnie Mouse”, was born June 21, 2012 in Shelby to Mark and Samantha and leaves behind her loving mother; brothers, sister, and aunts; paternal grandparents Dan and Sonja Carman and maternal grandparents Deborah Marie and Robert Lee Laferty of Tiro; maternal great grandfather Charles Edward Osborne, Tiro; maternal great grandparents Mildred and Joshua Laferty of Tiro; paternal great grandfather Glenn Carman.
Funeral Services for Mark and MacKenzie will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Following the service they will be buried together in Oakland Cemetery, Tiro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
