Marion Eugene Smith

Marion Eugene Smith, 85 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday August 3, 2023 at home.  Marion was born August 20, 1937 in Marion, OH to the late Marion Clyde and Elsie (Morton) Smith.  He was married December 24, 1956 to Connie (Mercer) Smith who survives.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Stephen Orville Smith and Dennis Michael Smith as well as sister Deborah Sue Wilson.

Marion is also survived by sons Todd of Columbus and Scott of Bucyrus; granddaughter Brenda (Mike) Livengood of Westerville; great granddaughter Ellie Ferguson; sister in laws Janet (Jack) Burks and Dianne Tooley; brother in law David (Martha) Mercer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marion worked at Anchor Swan for 40 years and retired from Fowler Products in Crestline.  He was an Army Veteran and member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.  Marion enjoyed golfing and playing cards.  In younger days, Marion was the shortstop for the Semi-Pro Bucyrus Bombers Baseball Team.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Tanyce Addison officiating and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
