Biography: Margaret V. “Pete” Groves, 86, of Bucyrus passed away on Friday morning Oct. 11, 2013 at Altercare of Bucyrus, she had been in failing health for the past several years. Margaret was born Jan. 5, 1927 in Portland, TN to the late Genie and Hattie (Munday) Clinard. She was married Feb. 6, 1943 to J. C. Groves who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters Joyce Newman and June Groves; son David Groves; granddaughter Vickie Lynn Newman; brothers Charles, George, and Ray Clinard; and sisters Helen Walters and Betty Cooley.
Margaret is survived by children Sandra (Bill) Barber, Roger Groves, Susan Zeigler all of Bucyrus and Sarah Miller of Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; special niece-daughter Pat McManaway, Bucyrus; and brother Darrell Clinard of New Carlisle, OH.
Margaret worked for Professional Assoc. for 21 years, Baumoels for 17 years, Bucyrus Comm. Hospital Housekeeping Dept. for 13 years and last for Dr. Glen McMurray. She was a member of Kaler Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a foster care parent for several years and enjoyed gardening.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 4:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Memorials may be given to Home Care Matters Hospice and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
