Biography: Loretta Johnson, 77 of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday July 8, 2018 at home following an extended illness. Loretta was born November 12, 1940 in McCarr KY to the late Frank and Mildred (Ratliff) Sweeney. Loretta was married September 9, 1962 to James Gilbert Johnson who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons Albert Johnson and Billy Jack Whited; brother and sister in law Bobby and Lena Sweeney; as well as sister Julia Dicks.
Loretta is also survived by daughter Dana (Brent) Raines of Russells Point, OH; grandchildren Ashley Parker, Billy Brown, Chrissy Brown, Chris Johnson, Hayden (Cody) Nobbs, Cole Raines, and Jordan (Kody) Perrine; 10 great grandchildren; sister Brenda (Chuck) Melvin of Bucyrus; brother in law Fred Dicks of Bucyrus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta lived most of her life in Bucyrus and was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She helped raise many children throughout the years including nieces and nephews. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and looked forward to each new great grandchild being born.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 3:00 pm in the Bucyrus Nazarene Church with Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating with burial to take place at a later date in Clariden Twp. Cemetery, Caledonia. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
