Biography: Lonnie G. Arthur, 90, 0f Bucyrus passed away on early Sunday May 18, 2014 at Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky. Lonnie was born Aug. 11, 1923 in Clay Co., WV to the late Lewis P. and Cloie (Page) Arthur. He was married Feb. 8, 1947 to Ethel T. (Schoolcraft) Arthur who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Fred and Basil Arthur, as well as sisters Elsie Critchfield, Elizabeth Humphreys, Tressie Rapp, and Nona Hart.
Lonnie is also survived by children Carla Arthur of New Mexico; L. Alan Arthur of Upper Sandusky; and Kay (Dave) Pierce of Marion; seven grandchildren; Gregory Coulliette, Sherri Dindal, Brandon, Gina, and Ashley Arthur; Andrew and Jessica Pierce; 9 great grandchildren; as well as close family friend Linda Barden of Bucyrus and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lonnie retired from Bendix Autolite in Fostoria in 1988 after 19 years. He was a graduate of Charleston W. V. High School and moved to the Sycamore area in 1965. Lonnie was a member of the Kaler Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union and was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Armed Guard.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Kaler Ave. Church of Christ in Christian Union with Rev. George Lohr officiating, burial will be in Oceola Cemetery.
