Leona B. Berghofer

Biography:  Leona B. Berghofer, 97, a resident of Bucyrus since 1994, passed away on Sunday at Altercare of Bucyrus. Leona was born July 26, 1917 in Bellevue, OH where she lived her entire life until moving to Bucyrus.  She was the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (McFatridge) Maxfield.  Leona was married June 29, 1937 to Eldon J. Berghofer who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1975.  She was also preceded in death by grandson Todd Blausey; brother Robert Maxfield; and son in law Dale Blausey.
Leona is survived by daughter Beverly Blausey of Port Clinton, OH; granddaughter Pam (Jim) Rehm of Bucyrus; granddaughter in law Jan Blausey of Tiffin; great grandchildren Travis, Katie, Andy, Troy, and Taylor; great great granddaughter Ady; cousin Linda Kerr of Bellevue; and two nieces Vickie Maxfield of Bucyrus and Margaret Keller of Fremont.
Leona attended Bellevue Schools and was formerly a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Rebon officiating, burial will be held in Restlawn Memorial Park, Huron at a later date.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Diabetes Foundation and expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
