Biography: Lawrence Edmund Andrews died peacefully 4/5/16 in Hudson, OH.
Lawrence, a 1950 Bucyrus HS graduate, earned a degree from Ohio State University in 1955 in Metallurgical Engineering. He worked for Alcoa for 35 years in both Cleveland & Pittsburgh. Larry married Avonelle Bordner & loved her dearly for 59 years. He was a Mason & a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a weekly volunteer at the Akron Ronald McDonald House. Larry was a long time active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in North Olmsted, participating in Habitat for Humanity.
Lawrence was born in Bucyrus, OH, the only child of Estelle Berry Andrews Lutz, a school teacher, & Arthur Edmund Andrews, a pattern maker. Larry became a craftsman & woodworker who taught his children the value of hard work. His grandchildren would seek his help to fix anything.
Larry is survived by his wife Avie; son David Arthur Andrews (Rose Orient Andrews) of Silver Lake Village, OH; daughters Laurie Elizabeth Andrews Nagel (Jeffrey Nagel) of St. Charles, MO, and Avonelle Lynn Andrews Leonard (Thomas Leonard) of Fort Collins, CO.; Nine grandchildren; Luke Egan Andrews, Margaret Andrews Sherry, Clark Ian Andrews, Emma Noelle Andrews, Maxwell Andrews Nagel, Jaxon Andrews Nagel, Madeline Elizabeth Nagel, Jacquelyn Michelle Leonard Hays,Thomas James Leonard; and one great grandchild: Avonelle Erin Hays.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at 2:00pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 2121 Sixth St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 with interment to take place at a later date in Bucyrus. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
